If you are looking for a flat or a car through online listings, check attractive offers carefully. Fraudsters can make a non-existent or misrepresented property or vehicle look convincing.

Warning signs include:

  • An unusually low price and a demand for an immediate “reservation” payment.
  • Photographs copied from elsewhere that do not show the actual property or vehicle.
  • Pressure to pay before meeting the seller or inspecting what is being offered.

A lack of clear information or an opportunity to verify the offer increases the risk. Do not make a financial decision under pressure or send money before checking who you are dealing with.
