Fake apps can copy the appearance of a genuine service while trying to steal personal or financial information.
Before installing an app:
- Download it from an official app store, such as Google Play or the App Store.
- Check the number of downloads, ratings and user reviews where these are available.
- Avoid download links from sources you cannot verify.
An app’s familiar appearance is not enough to establish that it is genuine.
