Job scams and money mules

Criminal groups use convincing job offers to target people looking for work, including students, unemployed people and those under financial pressure.

Scammers may pose as HR managers at well-known companies. Professional language and plausible profiles help them gain trust, while claims such as “an opportunity you cannot miss” or “selected applicants only” create pressure to decide quickly.

People who respond may be drawn into illegal activity, persuaded to share sensitive information or exposed to financial loss.
